CLASSROOM CONTRACT

Definitions 

 

Academy means Kirren Karara trading as Kirren Karara Beauty Academy 

Both parties mean you and Kirren Karara. 

Cancellation rights means the cancellation of the contract by appropriate notice from you to us. After cancellation, both parties will treat the contract as not having been made. 

Cancellation period means 7 days from the date of registration. 

Contract means this agreement between you and Kirren Karara Beauty Academy. 

Enrolled student means a student who has enrolled with Kirren Karara Beauty Academy, thereby confirming that they intend to actively learn during course and that they agree to the Terms and Conditions set out below. 

Fees means the fees chargeable for a student course of study. 

Termination rights means the rights of both parties to end the contract early. 

Termination means the early end of the contract after the appropriate notice from you or us. 

Terms and Conditions means the clauses contained in this Contract. 

Tutor means the instructor who conducts the course you are registered on. 

We/us/our means the Kirren Karara Beauty Academy owned by Kirren Karara. 

You/your means an applicant who has enrolled for a course with Kirren Karara Beauty Academy and to whom this contract applies. 

 

Introduction 

This document sets out in detail the relationship between you and Kirren Karara Beauty Academy. We want you to get the best out of your time at the Academy. To ensure your experience with us is successful, enriching and memorable both parties must recognise that we owe obligations to each other. When you enrol for a course you are entering into a contractual relationship with us. It is important that you understand the nature of this contractual relationship and what you are agreeing to by entering into it. 

 

Your Contract with Kirren Karara Beauty Academy 

Before signing this Contract, you should check that the details in the offer are complete and accurate. If you have any queries, you should contact Kirren Karara by email (info@kirrenkarara.com) or telephone (07528169944). 

When you accept an offer of a place and your contract with Kirren Karara Beauty Academy takes effect, you agree to be bound by the terms of this document. Accordingly, you should read this document carefully. 

 

Changes to your Course or this Document 

The Academy is continuously developing, refining and improving its services and courses, and introducing new options for the benefit of its students. This may be to reflect student feedback or matters of judgement or expertise, to accommodate changes or developments in practice or teaching practices or facilities, or to keep the course of study up to date. This may lead to changes in the terms, content or delivery of the Academy’s course. 

If the Academy decides to make a significant change to your course of study, they will consult you in advance on the change, except where the change is required for regulatory or legal reasons, or on account of events beyond the Academy’s control, in which case the Academy will notify you of this as soon as possible and try to minimise any adverse impact on you. 

 

Your course 

You are expected to allocate your own model for the practical session of your course. You will be informed in advance by the Tutor if you need to provide your own model for the practical session. 

If a group session you will be expected to work on other students in the classroom. 

 

On some courses, models provided by you for practical sessions may need to be patch tested 48 hours before the treatment is carried out on them. The Tutor will inform you in advance if this needs to be done on your model. 

 

If you have difficulties allocating a model for your practical session, you must inform your Tutor at least 7 days prior to the day of the practical session. 

You are required to bring two black towels on the day of your course. 

For full day courses, you will be given a 30-minute lunch break. Lunch will not be provided therefore students should bring their own food and drink. 

 

Coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided throughout the course. If you have allergies, please bring your own snacks. 

You are required to bring your course manual and questionnaire that has been sent to you on the day of your course. You are required to complete the questionnaire and email the answers to Kirren Karara at info@kirrenkarara.com 

 

If you are carrying out an ABT accredited course, you are required to bring your course manual and questionnaire that has been sent to you on the day of your course. You are required to complete the questionnaire and email the answers to Kirren Karara at info@kirrenkarara.com 

Fees, deposits and consequences of non-payment 

Deposits must be paid when you register on a course. Your fees for your course must be paid in full 14 days prior to the commencement of your course. 

 

If you fail to pay the sum you owe to the Academy, the Academy reserves the right to take action to recover those sums. 

Your fees include access to required materials such as manuals. The details of what you will receive depends on which course you are registered on and this is outlined on individual course pages. Course fees do not include other miscellaneous expenses that may be incurred during your course. 

 

Non-attendance of course 

Failure to attend the course would result in the deposit/ payment being non-refundable and non-transferable. Should an outstanding balance be due the payment must be made immediately. Failure to pay any outstanding balance would result in a letter before action being sent requesting the payment in full. Instalments would not be acceptable. Should the payment still not be made we will take action for the outstanding balance to be paid via Small Claims. Additional charges would be applicable to recoup any losses made as a result of your non-attendance. The following charges would be applied but are not limited to these only: 

 

Remaining course balance 

Demand letter charge £25 

Postage fee for letters sent out chasing payment £10 

Miscellaneous fees 

Interest at 8% 

Small Claims fees – varies 

 

Misplaced and reissue of documents 

Once the course material has been sent if you lose the material there will be an additional cost of £10 per item to resend this out to you 

Reissue of an email certificate £10, paper copy certificate £10, printed card copy of your certificate, we charge £15. For a laminated copy we charge £20. charge. Postal charges apply should you want your certificate sent in the post. 

 

Price Variation 

The price of the course may be subject to a price variation (increase or decrease) at a later date or when you will be attending the practical session. Should this be the case you will only be required to pay the price stated at the time of booking this course and as confirmed in the Welcome letter. 

 

Mobile phone usage 

Your mobile phone should be kept on silent or switched off throughout the practical session. If you require to use your phone during the practical session please let your Tutor know in advance of the practical session. 

 

Dress Code and Appearance 

We encourage students to wear loose and comfortable clothing preferably a black tunic to maintain an appropriate standard of dress and personal appearance at the Academy. Hair must be tied up throughout the course and you are not allowed to wear jewellery on the practical sessions. 

The purpose of our dress code is to establish basic guidelines on appropriate clothing and appearance at the Academy, so that we: 

(a) promote a positive image and staff look professional; and 

(b) take account of health and safety requirements. 

 

Health and Safety 

The Academy will act in accordance with all health and safety legislation and regulations to provide a safe working environment for you during the course. 

The Academy will monitor health and safety to ensure continuous improvement, to reduce the risk of an accident and to prevent injury and ill-health. 

The Academy will provide such information, instruction, training and supervision as is reasonably necessary before the commencement of the course to ensure the health and safety of its students. 

Contraindications checks will be carried out as students training as therapists will be providing treatment to one another. If you have a contraindication, please let the Academy know in advance. 

If you fail to follow health and safety procedures and regulations, the Academy may take disciplinary action against you. 

You must inform the Academy if you have any issues or if there is any other reason which would affect your ability to follow any health and safety procedures or regulations. Where 

possible the Academy will make any reasonable adjustments and provide you with additional support to ensure your safety and wellbeing.

Conduct 

The Academy expects that enrolled students should conduct themselves appropriately throughout the course. The Academy has a right to take disciplinary action by withdrawing the enrolled student from the course and forfeiture of fees against any student who fails to observe the Academy rules and regulations. 

Students are expected to respect fellow students and staff members of the Academy. If it comes to the attention of the Academy that a student has behaved in an inappropriate manner to a fellow student or staff member, the Academy will take disciplinary action which could lead to withdrawal from the course and forfeiture of fees. 

 

Students found to have disrupted, obstructed or improperly interfered while the course is taking place and /or behaved in a manner which has damaged or could have damaged the Academy’s reputation, such as engaging in anti-social behaviour, will be subject to disciplinary action. 

Your cancellation rights 

 

Once you have registered for a course at the Academy you have 7 days (“the Cancellation Period”) in which to cancel your registered course and you can do so for any reason. To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform the Academy of your decision to cancel this Contract by a clear statement (e.g. e-mail) to Kirren Karara by email (info@kirrenkarara.com

 

If you cancel the course your registered for within the Cancellation Period, any fees or deposit paid by you to the Academy will be forfeited. If you start your course within the Cancellation Period, the Academy has the right to charge you for the course provided. 

If you cancel the course your registered for after the Cancellation Period, the Academy will not refund payments received from you. 

Please indicate your acceptance of these terms by signing and returning to me the attached copy of this letter.
